On the second day at USANT, an opening ceremony was held for Student Teachers from Indonesia and Thai. In the evening before the opening ceremony began, we were asked to display a culture from each country. I and other Indonesian friends think that we will be performing a traditional dance. Finally, we decided to display the Maumere traditional dance from NTT. We had to practice dancing at night before the opening ceremony began.
The opening ceremony starts at 09.00 but we have to arrive at 08.30. Details of the activities are as follows:
After the invocation from the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, we continued by singing the national anthem of the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. The name of the Philippine national anthem is Lupang Hinirang, Thailand is Phleng Chat Thai and Indonesia is Indonesia Raya.
The next program was cultural performance, Thai student teachers performed their traditional dances complete with bamboo flutes and bells.
And for Indonesian Students
After the opening ceremony was over, we were invited by Mr. President of USANT to have lunch together, he is very friendly and he also tells a lot about Indonesia and Thailand, according to him both are beautiful countries. As a Muslim, we also provided halal food and we felt very honored to be able to eat together with Mr. President.
