Teaching Plan

Curriculum

The curriculum used is the K-12 curriculum. The new K-12 curriculum guide requires all Filipino students to have one year of kindergarten, six years of elementary school (grades 1 to 6), four years of junior high school (grades 7 to 10), and two years of high school (grades 11 to 12). Before implementing the K-12 curriculum guidelines, the Philippines was one of only three countries in the world and the only one in Asia that still had only 10 years in basic education.

Teaching plan related to your mayor

Before teaching, my cooperating teacher instructs me to make a lesson plan. I teach Mathematics materials for 9th students especially on Geometry. I teach the material "Similarities".

 

**First material that I teach is SAS Similarity Theorem, SSS Similarity Theorem, AAA Similarity Theorem, AA Similarity Theorem

I used cooperative learning model and the teaching objectives I expect after teaching and learning activity the students should be able to:

  1. Identify the several ways to prove congruent triangles.

  2. Observing the SAS Similarity Theorem, SSS Similarity Theorem, AAA Similarity Theorem, AA Similarity Theorem.

  3. Solve the problem that involve triangle similarity and right triangle.

At the end of teaching and learning activity, I give the students assignments regarding with the materials have been discussed.

**Second material that I teach is proportional segments in triangles

I used cooperative learning model and student-centered approach. The teaching objectives I expect after teaching and learning activity the students should be able to:

  1. Identify the proportional segments in triangles.

  2. Observing and illustrate the proportional segments in triangles

  3. Apply the theorems on proportional segments to solve problems involving similarity.

I also prepare the media for teaching, I used colorful triangles with proportional segments.

At the end of teaching and learning activity, I give the students assignments regarding with the materials have been discussed.

** Third material that I teach is Pythagorean Theorem.

I used cooperative learning model and the teaching objectives I expect after teaching and learning activity the students should be able to:

  1. Identify the Pythagorean Theorem.

  2. Observe and prove the Pythagorean Theorem

  3. Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to solve problems on right triangles.

I also prepare the media for teaching, I used powerpoint presentations and games is called "VS Game". At the end of teaching and learning activity, I give the students assignments regarding with the materials have been discussed.

** Fouth material that I teach is Special Right Triangles.

I used cooperative learning model and the teaching objectives I expect after teaching and learning activity the students should be able to:

  1. Identify the Special Right Triangles (30-60-90 and 45-45-90 Trianlgles)

  2. Observe and grouping activity for the topics

  3. Apply the topics to solve the problems.

I also prepare the media for teaching, I used powerpoint presentations. At the end of teaching and learning activity, I give the students assignments regarding with the materials have been discussed.
