Friday, 18th January 2019 Junior High School of USANT sends 12 participants consisting of 3 students per grade. Grade 7 sends 3 students, Grade 8 sends 3 students, Grade 9 sends 3 students and Grade 10 sends 3 students. 12 students will take part in the math competition at Iriga City held by Metrobank entitled "Metrobank MTAP DepEd Math Challenge (MMC) 2019". This activity is held annually in Iriga City. The Metrobank MTAP DepEd Math Challenge (MMC) is an annual mathematics competition aimed at raising the competitiveness of elementary and high school students. In partnership with the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) and the Department of Education (DepEd), it is the longest running math competition in the country with more than half a million students participating in the nationwide elimination rounds yearly, attracting students from both private and public schools. The winner is not determined in this competition, only the school position is stated based on the total score obtained by each participant from each level. USANT always ranks number 1 in a math competition. But, on this occasion, the students were a little disappointed because a technical error occurred in the assessment that made some students get less than optimal scores. There are no trophies and winners in this contest. Participants are only given a certificate that they can use to register in high school or college
